Instagram Users, The One’s who are Black, Keep Comparing Their Censorship To Non-Black Users, Is Social Media Race-Baiting Content Creators?
In October, I shared the above video to my youtube channel. Tahyira Savanna is a lifestyle writer, journalist, and on air personality. Since 2017, her Instagram handle “@iletthegoodtimesroll” has been illegally tagged by Meta Inc formerly Facebook Inc for being a Black Lives Matter activist. Tahyira uses her social feed to share what is happening around the World. In 2020, after the George Floyd protests reached Worldwide attention, American activists like Tahyira began noticing fake bots and accounts attempting to hold back her organic reach on the platform. Shadow-ban is Instagram’s version of silencing voices for a white majority. She also promotes voting information which since the 2016 Presidential Election and the 2020 Presidential Election is now deemed a social issue. Her music moniker: Tee Slaves — also a social issue. The black race as Tahyira says is the human representation of what it looks like to survive enslavement. In 2022, the remnants of slavery are alive and well. How does it make you feel about your future?

More recently, more Black users who received a blue check for their accounts meaning they have been verified on the platform as a more important user than someone who does not have the check, have been discussing the slow down on their reach after any instance of posting about Black education, police injustices linked to the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag, or if they include or share content from another user who the platform has already shadowbanned. Shadowban is not a myth. It is the illegal censorship of specific types of content.
In the YouTube video, you will find documented examples of what an account whose being shadowbanned resembles. The video also goes on to show white creators posting the same type of content without censorship. It is not only on Instagram it seems. Since the 2016 Presidential election, social media safety and fact checking has been the reality since Sean Spicer lied at the POTUS podium about the attendance at Trump’s Inauguration. I’m still trying to figure out what an alternative fact could be? Recently, Elon Musk won a bid to buy Twitter, after reports claimed the previous CEO and his, argumentatively small team, worked to help both Democrats and Republicans share news story on the platform. Suppression of a NY Post story was a part of the scandal. The Post story was about Hunter Biden, or something like that. These are the high levels of how media, even social media, plays in creating ideas in the minds of viewers. If white creators continue to not be censored based on the “content” then the Black users should understand that they are being censored because of skin color. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is not a flamingo.
Book bans are up in this country. Educators in small counties across the country said they got involved in the previous midterm election because it was affecting their work. Union workers have formed among themselves because they do not feel represented by the union reps they pay from their paychecks. Two white people, who did not qualify for Biden’s student loan debt removal, won a case that blocked the student loan debt relief program. Students in Florida stormed out for the #WeDontSayGay campaign their current Governor is fighting to keep legal. DeSantis says, “Florida is where wokeness goes to die.” Trayvon Martin is already dead because George Zimmerman stood his ground and chased him near his father’s home because he was wearing a hoodie in brown skin. The insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol building said they are and still peaceful protesters. One of them broke into the home of ex-speaker Nancy Pelosi, brutally attacking her husband a few weeks ago. During the Summer of 2020, then Commander-In-Chief Donald Trump walked outside holding a bible the wrong way up to show that Black Lives Matter was not something he supported. He claimed that protesters were Antifa and working to hurt his politics and his supporters, the cops.

If the white narrative of this nation continues to fight for their power, the United States will become worse than anything we’ve seen in Nazi Germany. During the Reconstruction Era, the freedman bureau was never established, because of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. The holiday, Juneteenth, came into legal effect during this current administration, because of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s type of leadership. Hakeem Jeffries, will most likely become the Speaker of the House, replacing Nancy Pelosi. Jeffries like me, is from Brooklyn. In 2023, there is a lot of work to be done for those seeking equity in terms of reparations, access, and political clout.
